2003

S was a cdR warmup, a chance for cats to hear some odds and ends from me, some tracks that didn't make my album cut due to one reason or another interspersed with other stuff I was pleased to record and wanted cats to hear. Each copy came with a Sankofa sticker and regular toothpick. Below is the breakdown:

second-one of two guest verses I recorded for work with Bucc (of the Narcissists, fka the Narcs), he ended up liking my first verse better, so I got dibs on this first-guest verse for a mic Dagger/Konstant Output 12" that never got beyond the brainstorm stage (WCC liner notes list it as "Indie Pennant 12")

Grateful-vocal levels too low, tried picking up some JON?DOE technique of singing in the background of the hook while rapping, if not for the vocal levels, this cut would have made my album

So Be It-recorded with Kashal-Tee and Seron (dope rapper forever lost to hip hop when he found Jesus) back in 2000? over a Weirdwolf beat, I wish Seron were still around (quote from first verse for Bucc which'll appear on his album "i wish Seron hadn't found Jesus, but So Be It")

that Kobe Song-first real diss song I made, just got so sick of him that I decided to stop running circles and write it out of my system...Kashal-Tee loved this song but JON?DOE made me promise it wouldn't go on my album...DJ Erase on the beat

Hurricane Parks-dark, claustrophobic beat I gathered some odds and ends to and ended up pleased, originally found on Obese America....prod. by Liddarge

breakneck-yes folks, if I had the program, this song would be about half as long as it is (note the beat playing WELL after rapping has completed) , something didn't quite click and thus it didn't make my solo album cut-was originally going to have scratches on the hooks and some slight resequencing...prod. by DJ Emm Are

Chubby Rain-aka Ghostface in 7 Easy Steps (pained voice, food, girls, clothes, five percenter, out of left field overdubs, revolutionary reference), mydparis had a beat that sounded like the Oochie Wallbanger remix and I was writing stupid lyrics between takes at Double Helix central, figured "why not?"

Stock Footage-this song showed up on a Day by Day compilation and got me mentioned in URB "sputtering rhymes at warp speed" or something like that. Almighty made the beat.

Visiting Hours-best thing I wrote, WAAAAAY too long, but a hell of a story, Sum1 did the beats

DJ Emm Are drop-ah yes, the mighty JON?DOE and I combine (this time in the guise of Silversmiths instead of White Collar Criminals) and do a radio drop for DJ Emm Are's short-lived radio show

Minneapolis Sessions-recorded this with Agape (last seen touring the world with his Christian rap ministry) back in March between playing a bunch of basketball and damn near having my legs fall off, Naught made the beat

Wargone-i wrote a bunch of stuff to this beat and ended up using something entirely unintended and silly, Agape was serious and I got to sing at the end, ognihs made this beat when in a "five minute timbaland throwaway" mindstate. I think the beat's really dope.
